Through funding by the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries (MHSTCI), Canoe Kayak Ontario (CKO) and Canoe Kayak Ontario (CKO) Sprint are excited to announce new funding available to support grassroots and competitive programming for member clubs.
CKO Sprint will be providing $266,000.00 to Ontario clubs in COVID-19 relief funding based on the financial impact of the pandemic during the 2020 and 2021 season, as well submitted Competitive membership and Participant (non-competitive, recreation, camp, etc.) numbers submitted to CKO in either the 2019, 2020 or 2021 season, whichever is higher.
40% of the total funding will be allocated to member clubs based on the financial impact of the pandemic, 40% will be divided by the total Competitive membership to determine the per Competitive member allocation, the remaining 20% of the funding will be divided by the total Participant numbers to determine the per Participant number allocation.
Financial Impact Allocation
A club’s financial impact will be established by any lost revenue and/or COVID-19 related costs for paddling related programming only during the 2020 and 2021 operating years. To determine the financial impact, clubs must complete our COVID-19 Member Club Impact form here by Tuesday, May 24, 2022, by 5:00 pm. Note – MHSTCI, CKO, and CKO Sprint reserve the right to request additional documentation to confirm a club’s financial submission.
Eligible clubs must be registered via the RAMP system with Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) as either a Full or Associate member club by Tuesday, May 24, 2022, by 5:00 pm.
Financial Impact Eligibility
In addition to the above, eligible clubs must have been a CKC member (Full or Associate) in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
