National Team & Ontario Team Program Nominations

Congratulations to all athletes nominated to our 2024 Ontario Team Program. The list of nominated athletes can be found here. Our Team services and support packages will be provided to nominated athletes and their coaches shortly. Congratulations also goes out to the athletes from Ontario who were nominated CKC's 2024 Sprint and Paracanoe National Training Squad. The list of nominated athletes can be found here.


Ontario Cup - Swim Meet: December 10, 2023

We hosted 89 participants, from 11 clubs at our annual Swim Meet in both Toronto and Carleton Place. BBCC finished 1st overall with 215 points, BCC 2nd with 190 points, CPCC 3rd with 169 points. Full results and club points can be found on our event page here.


CTL Workshop - Powering Coach Wellness & Performance through Self-Care, Tuesday: January 23, 2024 12:00 pm

In partnership with Biathlon Ontario, CAC, and the Canadian Centre for Mental Health in Sport (CCMHS), we are offering a free CTL workshop. The workshop objectives are to enhance knowledge of CTL self-care and wellness in sport and general life, and understand the risks and benefits associated with low and high self-care practices. Workshop information can be found here. Using the following link, CTLs must first create an account with CCMHS, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to register for the workshop.


CKO Sprint Summit Series - Reconnect for Club Administrators & CTCs - CTL Recruitment and Retention: Thursday, January 25, 2024 7:30 pm

The session will be a great opportunity for club administrators and CTLs to come together to discuss the professionalism of Canoe Kayak coaching and technical leadership in Ontario. We will look at current trends and best practices in how to recruit and retain CTLs and develop professional standards that can be implemented at the club, divisional, and provincial level. CTL Professional Development Funding

New for 2024, the CTL Professional Development funding's objectives are to support lifelong learning and sharing for coaches and technical leaders by providing financial support to participate in targeted professional development opportunities. The funding is intended for full-time CTLs working with LTAD Training to Train - Training to Win stage athletes. Approved projects will receive up to $2,000 in financial support.  The funding application deadline is Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Ontario Team, SO Team & U14 Academy Team Ski Camps: February 1-4, 2024 (Ontario Team), February 3-4, 2024 (SO & U14 Academy Team)

Our upcoming February Nordic ski camps are taking place in Gatineau, QC for 2024 Ontario Team, and EOD SO/U14 Academy Team members, and in Barrie, ON for our WOD SO/U14 Academy Team members. Camp details will be provided to nominated athletes and available on our event page here.


Ontario Cup - Ski Race: Sunday, February 4, 2024

Our annual Ski Race will be held in both Gatineau, QC and Barrie, ON. The event is open to all members, alumni, and the paddling community. Event details and club entry forms will be available on our event page here. The registration deadline is Monday, January 29, 2024.


CKO Sprint's 2024 Development Training Camp - Welland: April 27 to May 5, 2024

Information on our 2024 Development Training Camp is now available on our event page here. The training camp is targeted towards U14, U16 and Special Olympics athletes from across Ontario. The camp offers 9 days of focused technical development, team building, and lifelong skills. The event page includes the camp information package, online registration form, link to our parent/guardian information session on Monday, January 29, 2024, and camp FAQ. The registration deadline is Monday, February 12, 2024.
